North Anna Power Station Alert & Notification System

Emergency-cell-phone

The Commonwealth of Virginia and Dominion Energy are working together to change how you receive alerts in the unlikely event of an emergency at the North Anna Power Station.

Starting March 1, 2022, Dominion Energy's alert sirens will be replaced with Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEAs). This means if there is an emergency at the North Anna Power Station, you will receive a cell phone message with information about the emergency and instructions on how to stay safe. This alert system, called IPAWS, was developed by FEMA and will ensure our community is safe and you are informed. These alerts are identical in nature to AMBER and severe weather WEAs.

Residents near North Anna Power Station will begin to receive notices in their mailboxes to help prepare for the transition and subsequent retirement of emergency alert sirens.

Visit Dominion's website with alert transition FAQs for more.
