Firearm Safety Course

Participants will learn firearm safety laws and familiarization of handguns and ammunition, as well as how to handle a weapon safely and the laws regarding use of a firearm in a self-defense situation. This Firearm Safety Course is one of the steps necessary to qualify for a concealed weapon's permit. Participants must pass the classroom portion of this course and must provide their own handgun and ammunition for the Firing Range portion of the course. Do NOT bring your hand gun to the classroom portion of the class (Wednesday night). This course is open to anyone age 21 and older and is taught by Lieutenant Clay Hart of the Louisa County Sheriff's Department. This class is for men and women. This is a two-part course and participants MUST attend both classes. The registration deadline is August 10th.
