Louisa County Aquatic Facility 2021

LCAF will open under these modified COVID 19 guidelines

Anyone who enters the facility, whether swimming or not, MUST pay the admission fee.

The Louisa County Aquatic Facility will be opening this summer with a modified schedule and revised operational plan to ensure the safety of our guests and staff. We will follow state and local rules, CDC guidelines, and published industry best practices for the safe and effective operation of an outdoor community aquatic facility. LCAF will be open Mondays through Sundays from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. Our ability to offer a safe and enjoyable experience this summer is dependent on every guests understanding and adhering to these operational guidelines.

Reservations: LCAF will open and operate at a limited capacity. In order to manage the attendance numbers and provide our guests with equal opportunities to attend and enjoy the Aquatic Facility, we have implemented scheduled shifts for attendance and a reservation system. Aquatic Facility patrons must have a reservation in order to enter and attend the facility. Reservations are managed in two 4 hour shifts. There will be a 15-minute cleaning period between the first and second shift of each day. All guests must exit the facility at the end of each shift. Reservations and payments must be made by calling the Louisa County Parks, Recreation & Tourism office at 540 967-4420. Weekend reservations must be made prior to 5:00 pm on Friday. No Walk-Ins Allowed. Reservations should include the names of all of the individuals that will be attending. Each reservations could include up to six individuals in one party. We will also accept reservations for individuals interested in Lap Swimming which is available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:30 am until 11 am. If a guest has made a reservation but is no longer able to attend, the guest must cancel the reservation 24 hours prior to the reservation time in order to receive a refund. Large group gatherings or parties are not allowed. Louisa County Parks, Recreation & Tourism will monitor the reservation activity and reserves the right to cancel reservations that do not adhere to these rules.

Admission: The admission process will be carefully managed in order to ensure that anyone entering the club has a reservation and to ensure that we maintain thorough records of attendance. All guests entering the Aquatic Facility are required to pay the admission fee. Children age 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult. First shift guests are required to exit the facility through the gate to the right of the Guards’ Office in order to avoid two-way traffic at the main entrance. Weather related closures will be rescheduled if they impact more than 50 percent of the reserved booking time.

Staff Safety Measures: Our staff will follow safety practices to protect their health and the health of all of our guests. They will be trained on the safe and effective operation of the facility. Aquatic Facility staff will work in defined pods to limit crossover contact. Each staff member will participate in a temperature check upon arriving to work. Staff will wear face coverings while working at the front desk and concession area. Hand sanitizer, soap, and cleaning products will be widely available for staff and participants. During the 15-minute cleaning breaks between shifts, staff will clean furniture, pool ladders, railings, countertops and other common surfaces. There will be a manager on each shift who is the designated Safety Captain responsible for working with members to ensure that rules and safety measures are being followed.

Concessions: We will operate the Concessions Area with limited food items for purchase in order to reduce the risks associated with shared high-touch areas. Concession counter will be wiped down after each customer is served.

Pool and Pool Deck: The pool deck has been arranged to promote social distancing. LCAF staff will be responsible for cleaning and arranging the deck furniture between each shift. Guests should be respectful of one another’s space and observe appropriate social distancing, even when in the pool. The lounge chairs and pool furniture have been appropriately spaced and guests may not move or arrange the furniture. Each grouping of furniture is to be used by one individual or family only. For sanitary reasons, we are not currently offering a Lost & Found service. Unfortunately, this means that any item left at the Aquatic Facility will be disposed of at the end of the shift. The operation of the Baby Pool and Fountain may or may not be useable based on CDC Guidelines. The occupancy of the locker rooms are limited; maximum allowed in room will be posted.
