  1. Firearm Safety: For Men

    June 14, 2018, All Day @ June 14th: Sheriff's Office Conference Room June 16th: Louisa Firing Range

    Participants will learn the basic principles of handling a firearm as well as instruction in firearm safety. This course is one of the steps necessary to qualify for a concealed weapon’s permit. DO NOT bring your handgun to the weekday class! Participants must provide their own handgun and ammunition for Saturday’s class at the Firing Range. Men and women will participate together for the Range portion of these classes. Firearm Safety is instructed by Detective Sergeant Scott Cox and Deputy Eric Gholson of the Louisa County Sheriff’s Department.

  2. MA's No-Low Impact Workout

    Join MargaretAnne in this light and lively No-Low Impact Workout! As we mature, our joints don’t like the impact and we begin to slow down. MargaretAnne has taken the best of all of the workouts available and modified them so anyone can do them~standing, using a chair for support, or sitting. This is not an easy workout by no means...you WILL sweat, you WILL work muscles in new ways, and MargaretAnne WILL encourage you to ensure you get the most out of each class and see those results - a stronger, leaner you! This class is for everyone, whether just beginning or wanting to try something new. Please wear supportive shoes (sneakers are ideal) and don’t forget to bring a yoga mat, water bottle and towel. If you can’t commit to a full session drop in to as many classes as you’d like for $8 per class. There will be no class on June 14th, June 19th and June 21st. Four person minimum for entire session is required to offer these classes.

  3. Balance Workout & Stretch

    MargaretAnne will use balance techniques, exercises and movements to strengthen your muscles and improve your core strength which will improve your balance and reduce your fear of falling. This is a great class for anyone wanting to improve their balance and flexibility - first timers, senior citizens, folks with arthritis or long-term health conditions and for those recovering from an injury or surgery. If you can’t get up and down easily from the floor - this class is for you too! All levels are welcome. Bring a yoga mat and a water bottle and wear supportive shoes (comfortable sneakers are ideal). If you can’t commit to a full session take as many classes as you’d like for the $8 drop in rate per class. There will be no class on June 14th, June 19th, and June 21st. Four person minimum for entire session is required to offer these classes.

  4. Yoga for Well-Being

    June 14, 2018, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM @ Henson Building

    The NEW YEAR is the time to refocus your goals and work on a NEW YOU! This class is for the student who needs to move gently into his/her yoga practice, for the person who only has a little time in the week to do yoga, and/or the person whose body is in need of improved balance, strength, and over-all flexibility. Come join Donya Bauer, MA, E-RYT 500, in a friendly atmosphere where each student moves according to how they feel at any given moment. It is a great class for the beginning student or the person in recovery, and for the advanced students who know the importance of taking it slowly. Bring a yoga mat to class. There is an $8 per class payment option available for those who wish to check out the class (newcomers are always welcome!) and for those paying for less than 10 classes. Class meets each Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Henson Building. Why not give this class a try?
