CRIME SOLVERS
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Louisa County Crime
Solvers, Inc:
- To promote community participation
by assisting local law enforcement agencies in the
apprehension and convictions of criminals through
a system of cash rewards, and
- To help eliminate crime and the
fear of crime in our communities by promoting trust
and respect among the citizens of the greater Louisa
Community.
WHO BENEFITS FROM CRIME SOLVERS?
You do! CRIME SOLVERS has proven
successful assisting law enforcement officers in solving
numerous felony crimes and has recovered thousands
of dollars in stolen property. The success of the
program is an effective force toward making your community
a safer, more law-abiding place to live. Consequently,
not only do you and your family benefit from this
program, but so does your entire community.
HOW DOES CRIME SOLVERS WORK?
Anyone with knowledge of a crime can
call 1-800-346-1466. All callers may remain anonymous
with no pressure to reveal their identifies. The caller
gives a brief summary of what they know. Then, the
call taker assigns the caller a number which is used
in any subsequent calls to CRIME SOLVERS and
when a reward is paid to the caller. If the information
results in an arrest and indictment, a reward of up
to $1,000 is paid to the caller.
A CRIME SOLVERS Board of Directors,
comprised of up to 21 members of the community, oversees
the operation of the program and approves the reward
to be paid. The Board of Directors makes the determination
of the reward amount, which is based upon recommendation
of the coordinators.
HOW DID CRIME SOLVERS GET STARTED?
Louisa County CRIME SOLVERS was
molded after other highly successful CRIME SOLVERS
programs throughout the country, and was formed
with the support of the police and sheriff departments
as a means of increasing the effectiveness of local
law enforcement agencies in fighting and preventing
crime.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY COME FROM?
CRIME SOLVERS is a non-profit
organization, which relies solely on donations from
private citizens and local businesses. No funds are
received from any government agency or program, and
no tax dollars are used for rewards. CRIME SOLVERS
depends on you for the funds to gather clues that
can help solve crime.
