Finance

Purpose


The Finance Department is required to establish and maintain effective control over the County's financial activities by providing accurate fiscal information to all County departments and outside regulatory agencies as required by law on a timely basis in accordance with generally accepted accounting procedures. This department assists the Board of Supervisors and other County departments and functions with their business by providing the following services:
  • Accounting
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Budgeting
  • Financial Reporting
  • Procurement

Revenues & Expenditures


The County's revenues are derived from a number of sources including local taxes and fees, charges for services, and state and federal funding. Major expenditure classifications include public safety, education, health and welfare, parks and recreation, and others.

Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting


The County of Louisa is honored to be a recipient of the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting (PDF) by the Government Finance Officers' Association. Distinguished Budget Presentation Award
